What’s the Use of African Fabric?

The wax fabric or African fabric is the most used fabric in Africa and it is a 100% cotton fabric made with a very particular technique.

Wax is not only involved in fashion, but also plays a fundamental role in the daily life of the African continent.

The African cloth also called Dutch wax, super wax or “chigan” in one of the Benin languages.

It is used for the manufacture of African clothing such as shirts, dresses, pants, decoration elements, among others.

Apart from these functions, wax has always been used as a key element to carry newborns on their back, tied securely.

It is the equivalent of the stroller of the western world.

In our Blog we have a post about the African fabric and the connection between mother and children.
